weird reactions

as a health care profeesional for 22 yrs i had developed an allergy to latex. but it was manageable. 4 yrs ago i had a major accident that lead to compartment syndrome and a skin graft and a long bout of infections and couldnt use any adhesives and even some ointments. now i have to use oils on my limb to keep it soft and the skin from tearing, i am allergic to most of the oils even tried the ky lubricating oil. recently went on vaacation and had seafood and have never had food allergies other than from bananas, and woke up in the nt with blisters on bottom of my toes and on fingers very sore. my question is why has this allergic reaction become so much worse after my accident than before? its even gotten to the point of affecting my head in the symptoms of a head or sinus cold then i will have a skin reaction. very annoyed with trying to keep up with what i am allergic to exactly and learning new allergies as i go. thank you.

As I gather, in addition to latex, you are also experiencing allergies on exposure to certain foods. The most common culprits for food allergy are peanuts, milk, eggs, soya and shellfish. You will have to observe which food, on consumption is causing this problem.
Allergic reactions are mediated by IgE antibodies, which are released on exposure to a particular allergen. These in turn activate mast cells and lead to a local response or systemic anaphylaxis.

The diagnosis of allergy is difficult to prove or refute. Clinical suspicion and trial of elimination diets are used. An allergy specialist might be able to help you.
