Has he had any antibiotics lately?  My son had amoxicillin on a Thursday and the following Wednesday he started looking spotty.  He had a rash all over and I was convinced it was chickenpox.  It was an allergic reaction to the amoxicillin SIX DAYS LATER!!!

Just a thought.......

Yes Tanns you're right. It is possible. I had allergic reactions to penicillin after years of using it without incident. Now for this child, if you did not give him any medicine, then it could be food allergies, unless it is actually chicken pox. Any high fever? Any other symptoms? I think the Benadryl is a good start, but don't expect it to remove the red spots instantly. It will take some time maybe 2, 3 or more days. But you should continue giving it to him and see the family doctor as soon as possible. Good luck..
