your husband is wrong! It usually means you have poor circulation or low blood sugar

Feeling cold and chilled is frequently the first sign of an infection. The body's immune system is compromised and weakened and coldness often sets in. Stress on the body, fever and anemia can cause a person to feel cold as the body attempts to reset to a normal body temperature.Treat the cause and cure the cold and chills.

Colds, flu, respiratory infections and pneumonia can cause chills and the feeling of coldness. Strep throat and viral infections can also be identified as a direct cause of feeling cold and having the chills. Fever often accompanies these ills and causes chills and coldness as the body temperature has been elevated.

Bladder infections, kidney infections, pelvic infections, urinary infections and infectious diarrhea can all cause the chills. Sometimes chills are caused by a fever, other times the coldness is a result of low body temperature.

Anxiety and medication can also cause chills, as well as sweats.  If it turns out you aren't ill with anything, do you exercise at all?  In other words, are you circulating your blood?  Humans are built to move, not sit still.  There are also warming herbs that can help circulate the blood, including cinnamon, though that will lower your blood sugar so if low blood sugar is the problem this isn't for you, tumeric, cayenne, and the like.  There are also herbs that help circulate the blood directly by oxygenating it, such as gingko biloba, gota kola, witch hazel, and butcher's broom.
