Coming in and out of reality

My father has been a Altzheimer's facility for one year and was diagnosed a little over 2 years ago with the disease. .  Last night on the phone he was so clear and knew who I was and wanted to "go home".  Why does this happen.  One moment he is in "la la land" and the next moment he is so clear.  He is in Stage 6 - I thought this doesn't happen in Stage 6.

I am sorry... this is hard , for him and you, If this was me I would go to the facility he is at and see how he is doing, maybe they have him on Meds and something is happening there I would not just pass this by as Stage 6 check it and him out.you cannot let this kind of call go.Good luck

I wish I could help you Salli, but it sounds like we have the same type of problem. My mom lives with me and she has alz: She keeps asking me to take her home even though she is at home. If I tell her she is home she says "don't tell me that"  Last night when I was putting her in bed, she begged me to take her home in the morning and I said yes mom I will and she was very happy. I hate to mislead her, but what in the world can I do? Things are really going downhill here fast, and this is really breaking my heart.
