Late Stage Alzheimer's

I'd like to know about how long people with late stage Alzheimer's typically survive.  I know every person is different, but
i'm hoping for feedback from people who've gone thru this with a parent, friend,  & relative.  The only thing my mom does
for herself is open her mouth when she gets fed.  A year ago, she just needed assistance & guidance but was walking,
talking, using a bathrm.  She deteriorated very fast, I believe.  She's only 67 yrs, old & good physical health.  I would
greatly appreciate anything anyone would like to share with me.  Alzheime's is such a beyond horrible disease.

I agree with you Rondi about the horribleness I do know that hopefully before we reach an age to worry there will be new meds out there to help, one is being tested now I beli ve it is in the 3yrd year of trials called 'Rember'  you can google it for future referance I too have a family member who has had it....your Mom is very young to be at this stage I am sorry it must be very hard for you, .
