Wrong diagnosis?

So they've diagnosed my mother with dementia of Alzheimer's type after several years of looking for an answer.  I really don't believe this is the problem, it just doesn't make sense.  Is it at all possible that they misdiagnosed her and she had something like vitamin B12 deficiency?

hi,

they should rule out other problems like B12 deficiency, diabetes, uti, anaemia, thyroid before making diagnosis.  Of course other conditions can co-exist and should be well managed to delay decline.

other condotions can be easily tested for with blood tests.

I would really like to believe it so do some research/ maybe get a 2nd opinion, take heart I hear that the new drug Rember, google for update info, may be on the market in a year or two, on trials now ,if your Mom has been like this' for several years have you noticed any decline in her, what symptoms is she showing and have they deteriorated?
