vascular spasams 3 questions

My father had a brain aneurysm he is still today on this date in ICU from surgery he had a coil put in it's been 1 1/2 week and he has the tube still in his head and he is having vas spasms what happens if he has them for more than 2 weeks? or 3 or 4 ?? can they be stopped? will this cause damage?
