Aneurysms can they start from flattened blood vessels...

Hi! I wondered if an Aneurysm can start from a flattened blood vessel? Does flattened blood vessels cause anything? I mean, doesn't an aneurysm start in blood vessels?  Can the flattened blood vessels and can early signs of an aneurysm be caught on an MRI?

Hi. I just wanted to say hello, BUT, I too am going through the same thing. My last bout with cluster headaches was so bad, that i had my brother go bring me to the ER. I am going to leave a lot out, but when i left the hospital, in my release paperwork, they suspected NMS, but they were giving me Abilify, which can be deadly. I then got a hold of my primary care, & they told me they were going to order a MRI, with contrast. I called the other day, & the hospital told me that they were not doing a contrast! I have all the symptoms of an anuerism, plus water on the brain, now. I am asymtomatic, which means in medical field someone that is sick, but does not show any visable signs of being sick. So, i question the nurse about her not telling me the whole truth, & she did not deny it, but told me, i was not a doctor! I am so worried because i ended up, already with a permanant drooping eyelid, cateracts, glacoma, & a handfull of other disorders, including, i cannot chew, unless i do high doses of pain med.(fetinal) I asked nicely to see a neuro- surgeon, after speaking to the Brain institute, & i even called Cleveland clinic, where that nice nurse told me i had a vascular heart condition, & need to see a neauro -surgeon! I am so afraid to even ask for help now, but i am getting ready to call Cleveland clinic now. I have no idea why i am being treated like this. I have 100 percent health insurance, that i pay for myself. I hope you r doing well! Steven

Ive had MRI's where it just says head (re: sinuses) and some that say brain and actually show stuff in the brain area.  Although my doctor said he was going to send me for a Brain MRI with and without contrast (and I know he wrote for that) the girl who did my MRI said he didn't specify information such as w/ w/o contrast and I know that was on there as I talked to the hospital the night before and they said w & w/o and so the girl said oh he didn't specify so when it comes to MRI's I can take liberty and do what I want and I am only doing the with contrast because of your surgical history. I know my physician and I know he wrote brain w/ & w/o contrast.

There was stuff on ALL of my other MRI's that I know just didn't go away after all these years and was not on this one. Which was the point in the whole MRI. Plus the last time I had this other migraine it just so happened that I had flattened blood vessels and it was found out in surgery and relieved and they filled back up. I don't know if it was conincidence or not but that one migraine went away for almost a year and is back again. Plus that other issue with the tumor - it has ALWAYS been there and nothing from my eyes and above is mentioned on the MRI at all. It just makes me sicker to my stomach, as the whole point in getting the MRI is to do a check up on that area (pituatary and such).

Yes, an aneurysm is an out pouching from a blood vessel due to weakening in the wall of the blood vessel. Yes, an aneurysm can be caught on a MRI. This is a sensitive test to detect even a small widening of the blood vessel. If the blood vessel is not showing any widening, and the lumen and wall are of normal thickness, then it is unlikely that you have an aneurysm. Take care!
