Brain Aneurysm

Back in 2000, they found a leaking aneurysm in my brain. In 2002 I had the surgery and had it clipped. As far as I know, everything is OK now.
My questions are:
1) Are aneurysm hereditary?
2) After having one, am I more likely to have another?

Wow, a leaking aneurysm. So glad they found it before rupture. What sypmtoms were you having that lead up to being seen by a doctor?
Aneurysms can be hereditary. I think they are still doing research into this but it has been known to run in families. I believe its "usually" if 2 or more first degree relatives have had them then it can be said there may be a familial link.
As far as the multiple annies go. I'm no doctor but many people I've seen on different sites plenty of us have more than 1 annie. I have 1 annie and 2 tiny ones. Found the first one a year ago and the other two this year.
Hopefully, more people will come along and answer as well. Wishing you well and hopefully, we'll see you on here more. Having people on here who have had surgery to support others will help this particular forum grow ;-) So glad you found us.
