Femoral Aneurysm

by cgewirtz, Nov 07, 2009 07:00PM
I had ablation surgery 2 years ago and when they pull the catheter out it burnt like crazy for a very long time. Then I noticed a buldge forming at the cath site on my right groin area. It has continued to grow and was told by the doctor it was only scar tissue. Now I find out this week that it is a aneurysm that is 3x8 that prtrudes out and hurts at times. They are looking to try and stent the area. Is this something that is comon after a surgery like this? Why would they tell me it was scar tissue?

When I had my angiogram it was thought that I may have had complications from the cath. A decent bump began to form and due to my concern I was sent in to have the artery looked at with a test. They thought it was scar tissue as well and thankfully, that's what it turned out to be. I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I've not had ablation surgery so don't know about complications. Did they thread something thru your femoral artery? That's what they did for the angiogram......
