Post Surgical Questons

I am a BAV patient, having had my aortic valve replaced in 1975 (age 20).  I was diagnosed with CHF in 2005.  On 9/11/08, I had an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm (5.4cm) repaired along with replacement (again) of the aortic valve.  From December until March, I felt fine though I have never felt as good as I did before the surgery.  Since that time, my b/p has been slightly elevated and we are working on getting it down but for the past month or so, I feel like I'm always hungry, even after I eat. I always seem to have an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach.  I also seem to be tired all the time.  I'm considering going in and getting a blood workup to see if I'm low on iron or ???  Any suggestions?  Should I see my cardiologist or my internist???   Thanks

I see you posted five months ago and never got any responses.  I hope you have found some answers by now.  Obviously, I can't know what the problem is, but I would say to defininitely have the valve checked, among other things.  The kind of operation you had can be tricky.  You should have had some post-op echos by now, in any case.  Hopefully, your tests show that you are not having any regurgitation since the surgery.  That is one thing I would want to know about.  Good luck.
