brain Aneurysm??

I am a 36 year old male. I have a history of headaches and migraines. I'm a smoker, average weight, and have no health problems that I know of. For about the last month, I have been having localized headaches near the ethmoid sinus (Between the top of nose and eye) on the right side every day. They are usually not bad ( just enough to let you know they're there) and usually subside with OTC pain reliever. What concerns me is that I get them daily in the same spot. I have been doing some research on the internet, and have found alot of posts about brain aneurysms. Needles to say I am scared to death. Does this sound like possible symptoms of an unruptured brain aneurysm? I also keep  a stuffy nose (No drainage) and have been told I could have chronic sinusitis. Any information you could give me would be greatley appreciated.

Your story reminds me of my experience.

If something develops that is not typical for you and does not go away then you must get it checked out.

Three years ago for eight weeks most days I would wake up with a headache. Like yours, they were enough to tell me I had a headache, but rarely so bad I needed strong medicine. Usually they went away on its own or with OTC meds.

My headaches were in the front of the head.

Two general practitioners told me not to worry and suggested sinus problems and fibromyalgia.

I did not believe them as they made no sense. I insisted on a MRI of the head as I was sure it was SOMETHING and not "nothing" as they hinted.

Anyway, the MRI showed a brain tumor (which I had removed). It can also show an aneurysm, which at that time I did not have.

Bottom line: get a MRI of the head and sinus regions.

If that shows something THEN see the relevant specialist: an ENT or a neurologist.

No sense in seeing a ENT or neurologist before you have a MRI as until then everyone's guessing.

I had an aneurysm that ruputured in June and I am lucky to be alive. The surgery went well but I am still suffering from headaches. Here are the signs to look for: a massive headache, neck pain, numbness on the face and some part of the body and you may experience naseau. In October I have to have the other two aneurysms removed please pray for me.

No, this does not sound like brain aneurysm, more like chronic sinusitis. Try deep breathing exercise. Over the counter antihistamines, and decongestants and non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs may all help. However please take with prescription. Steam inhalation, drinking hot fluids and soups, warm lemonade, gargling with warm saline water are all very helpful. You could do this for a few days and see if it helps. Please discuss with your doctor. Take care!
