Can someone help me? please? :(

Hello im 17 yrs old and I need help controlling my anger. Im not a violent person, but sometimes when I get angry " enough " I want to hit ther person who ticked me off. I do not really mean to hit them, but i REALLY feel the urge to. But most the time I just say what ever comes to my mind at that second verses shutting up and keeping to myself. Little things tick me off though ( im currently on depo and im seeking to change that since, depo has changed my mood so I feel like this, and I do not want this. ) I have a boyfriend of going on 3 1/2 years, and my mood swings over the littlest things are slowly ruining our relationship, Hes told me he misses how i use to be so calm and relaxed..it would take so much to get to me... I miss this side of me too :/ hense why im getting off depo. My relationship with my mother has ben deteriating due to the fact im so, " angry " :( and i want to fix it. For the time being for depo getting clearly 100% out of my system, Can anyone please tell me how to control this anger, I do not know how to properly control? I feel weird.. uncomfortable.. and like a " bad " person because I can not control myself, at what I say.. or do :(

I commented on another of your posts.  This seems more geared towards the anger more than the depo, so Ill comment here as well.

I do think getting off of the depo is a real good idea, but do so talking with your physician.  He/she can offer an alternative that may be better suited for your needs and affect you differently/better.

From my experience with anger, I was asked by a mental health professional to journal everything about my anger.  Things like the time of day, what it was that made me angry... in order to try to find "triggers".  Really, anything in the world would trigger my anger.  But what I did discover was, I used to just store things instead of address them.  So imagine building a pyramid of marbles.  Each little thing that made you a little mad or upset is a marble, and each time that happens you put another marble on top.... eventually the pyramid falls, and that is when I would blow out over nothing.  Turns out that it wasn't nothing, but a million little things.  Completely irrational, I know.

What I learned was my depression disorder was a major part of the problem along with not addressing unresolved issues from my past.  (I just thought that enough time had passed and there was nothing I could do about it..... that is wrong.)

Seek the help from a mental health professional.  They can certainly help you through this.  It changed my life.

Hey, Snow, I hope you remember me. Hamed Khatiz, writer, drummer and many more. The truth is, people get angry all the time. It is a fact of life. A bjillion percent of massive bouts of anger happen for a reason. What kind of things do you get angry about? Talk to whoever it is about whatever it is and ask them to stop saying or doing something that would lead to you doing something you would eventually regret. Negotiating and face to face communication effectively ended the Two World Wars and so it can help you battle your anger and also begin to like the person you felt like knocking out cold a second ago.

Hope that helps. Anything else, don't hesitate to contact me.

P.S. Sorry if it was too colloquial, but give it a try. You'll be suprised how many people get angry about things that they can control with pretty breathtaking ease.

Hello Snow17, my name is Bambi.
I am also on the Depo Shot. And I also, have noticed a huge change in my moods, appetit, and sleeping habits. Since I have been on the Depo, I have also found myself getting SEVERELY angry over nothing. Every little thing makes me want to blow up. I feel like it is taking a toll on mine and my fiance's relationship. I get so angry, that it kills me to be in the room with whomever makes me angry. I also think that the Depo has something to do with my pain. But just know, that you are NOT alone. If you'd like to talk, i'm always here :) Have a nice day and good luck!
