Chest Pain, Low Ejection Fraction

Chest Pain, Low Ejection Fraction

Hello,

I have done Heart Surgery in 1996, for the first couple of years everything was Ok, but from 2005 and so on I am feeling great pain in chest. Recently I have conducted the following tests.

1- Echo
2- Angiography

According to echo test result my Heart
Ejection Fraction is 25-30%.
LVEDD: 68 mm
AO: 33 mm
LVESD: 56 mm
LA: 48 mm
RV: 16 mm
IVS: 5 mm
PWT: 5 mm

Flow velocity accross MV (D) E: 0.69 A: 0.99

And according to the most recent angiography results.

LMS: CTO with no flow.
RCA: RCA with CTO at proximal/mid junction.

AO-RCA: Total occlusion.
AO-RI: is patent with mild native ramus disease.
LIMI-LAD is patent with a large intercostal branch originating from proximal LIMA
LV: LVEDP: 16mmhg, left ventriculography was not done because of renal insufficiency.

Final Diagnosis:
Angina with history of CABG in 1996 and severe left verntricular systolic dysfunction. coronaries are as above.

Recommendation:
Will discuss coiling of the intercostal branch of LIMA to avoid stent phenomenon if evidence from perfusion data.

Please recommend what to do. And how to increase the Ejection fraction?

Best Regards.

Hello.

I'd love to answer this question, but for two reasons I cannot.

1) We're not allowed to comment specific advanced tests within cardiology, because we're not doctors, and not qualified to answer. I would recommend you ask this question in an expert forum or to your doctor or cardiologist.

2) If we did, we would risk misunderstanding and cause a dangerous situation. I hope you understand, and I apologize.

Anyway, I can give some short comments on your ejection fraction. Normal values are >50%. The question is, how affected are you by this in your daily life?

Exercise is usually recommended with heart failure, but it's very important you stay in touch with your doctor and follow his advice. Ask him if he recommends exercise. Some times, blood can find new ways and new cells can grow. Ejection fraction can increase with time, but all of this is highly individual, and unfortunately impossible for me to answer.

I'm really sorry this happened to you, and I apologize I cannot give you a better answer. Please stay in touch with your doctor, and good luck.
