My husband had double heart bypass 7 months ago. Surgery and recovery were on time and uneventful. However, within the last two weeks he has been experiencing pain in his left side when he takes a deep breath. Is this something to be concerned about?
Pain/ discomfort while breathing is more likely to be due to respiratory tract causes such as pleuritis, lower respiratory tract infection, chest wall inflammation etc. I would suggest getting this examined by an internist or a pulmonologist for a detailed evaluation and suggestion of an appropriate management plan.
Hope this is helpful.
