Troponins

Just curious, will Troponin tests detect Angina?  Or does there have to be a MI to trigger a positive result?

Hi there!

Though troponin levels may be raised in an episode of angina, the levels are neither sensitive nor specific for the condition. For the diagnosis of MI, the levels need to be above a predetermined cutoff.
