Unconscious after a drink of Pepsi

This afternoon, while making dinner...I walked into the living room, grabbed my pepsi and took a large gulp. I immediately felt a pain like heartburn. I told my roommate that I was fine and 2 seconds later, I was on the floor unconscious.

Afterward, I didn't experience any pain, just alot of dizziness, sweating and fatigue.  I do have high blood pressure and a history of heart disease in the family(both paternal and maternal)  My aunt is a nurse and thinks this is just an esophageal spasm, should I be worried about more?

Hi i read your post...i don't care if your aunt is a nurse or not it is NOT normal to lose consciousness and you need to be seen by a doctor and tell them what happened.  What you should have done was gone immediately to the emergency room.  Generally speaking when someone passes out it is due to lack of O2 and i am sure that that is what your aunt was trying to tell you with the "supposed" spasm she thinks you had but as a nurse she knows that this is very very dangerous.....especially when you have accompanying symtoms (symptoms)...do not walk run to the E.R.even if it hasn't happened since...you need to be checked out to make sure there are no clot issues especially if you have hypertension or high blood pressure...let me know how it works out...your life could depend on this....good luck
