Worried I'm being ignored

Worried I'm being ignored

I have had blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome since I was born 29 years ago. I dealt with most of what comes with that disorder quite well. Recently, about 4 years ago, started getting what was diagnosed as pvc's. They really worried me as all I could think was "what now".
I have had ekg's, echos, stress echo's and holter monitors. All came back normal except for my last one. It showed that I had mild tricuspid valve regurgitation and that when I was at my peak heart reat there were slants in my ekg( not really sure what that means) but doc said because my heart was healthy she wasnt concerned about the slants. What she is concerned with is my heart rate being so high at times ( sometimes 160 when most active and resting is between 90 and 100)
I have chronic iron difficiency anemia and have iron infusion about every 2 weeks depending on what my bloodwork shows. My crit has been as low as 18 in the past which was corrected by blood transfusions. My hematologist says that he is not concerned with my heart rate because he believes that it is my body's on wonderful way of dealing with my chronic anemia.
Also around the time that these pvcs started I had recently started taking advair 250/50 twice daily which I subsoquently stopped taking thinking it may have had something to do with it.
Long story short I have a few questions that concern me that I seem to get the run around when answered:
1. Could the advair have damaged my heart or lungs causing these pvc's?

2. Could repeated blood and iron infusions caused problems as well?

3. My blood pressure is always low averaging around 105 over 70 so I was concerned that the beta blockers that the doc wanted to put me on would make my blood pressure even lower causing me to feel exhausted all the time? My hematologist suggests that I dont take it claiming that if I did and was anemic it would just make me feel 50 times worse. He said that is why my heart rate is the way it is because my body is taking care of itself. SURVIVAL MODE

4. why would someone have slants on their ekg at an elevated heart rate and why shouldnt I be concerned?

5. also why can I sometimes feel pain in my back that seems to come and go with each heartbeat? My doc says she never heard of that so she doesnt know how to answer that question.

6..And finally, sometimes I get runs of these pvc's couplets and stuff ( which really make me light headed ) I stay away from everything that brings them on but do get an increase around my period or when I anxious -Why? And other times Im fine and dont get them at all.

IM SOOOO CONFUSED! Please help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance

Hi i read your post...okay one thing at a time i will attempt to answer your questions one by one as we go along and hopefully other members will also weigh in..................

1. Advair can definately cause a heart rate to increase.  And no it wouldn't be on the market if it damaged our organs.  Try to remember that your pulse rate if between 90-100 is still within normal limits for most humans.  However 160 is definately high and needs to be addressed.  With most people PVC's are considered benign but if they are bothering you you can always ask the doc if you are a candidate for a low dose beta blocker like antenolol that will help get you thru the rough spots.

2.  The simple answer is no......only the anxiety of having the infusions would set off some issues..........anxiety and stress are notorious for making our hearts irritable as it is commonly called.

3.  With a b/p at 105/70 you still fall into a normal range.  I did not realize that your doc had suggested putting you on a beta blocker  and the other doc is right...it will definately drop your blood pressure.....if your heart doc prescribes a minute amt. of beta blocker you may be fine.  There are alot of people out there who take 12.5 mg. which fits that description.  Dizzines is one of the symptoms of hypotension or low blood pressure......it will be a personal decision that you make.

4.  Slants are something on your reading that in most cases docs do not worry about when they take your entire medical history into consideration.  As you said the slants are only appearing  when your heart rate is increased.

5.  We have major arteries that run the length of the body...the femoral being the largest....feeling your heartbeat in the back and i am assuming the upper back to me would make some sense....you may want to google out an anatomy chart and look at the rear of the body and the upper back area and artery placement.  I would not again be surprised that you are feeling this.....

6.  PVC's are electrically based in the system. When we are on our periods and our hormone levels start going out of whack its pretty common to throw a few PVC's for even the most healthy human i think.  And as i said anxiety has a direct effect on the way our hearts beat due to the fact that our system naturally when we are excited, stressed, etc. pushes adrenaline thru our bodies and adrenaline has a very direct effect on the heart and how it beats....diet, emotion, electrical all have a direct effect on how our heart beats.

I would calm down a little bit here...the great news is that you have a very proactive doc who is monitoring you closely, and the other great thing is that you are really in tune w. your body looking for answers....in most cases as i said PVC's are totally benign....humans will go thru life w. them and nothing structurally happens to their hearts because of them since they are electrically based.  Over 40% of the entire population have suffering from PVC's at one time or another and many times they become lone incidents where you'll get a couple of runs of them and then maybe never again or not for 10 or 20 years...relax....keep up the good work in searching out the answers you look for...we all have to stay aware of our bodies, its the only one we were given...

thank you so much for your post. it really helped me weigh things out a bit. I am dealing with so much stress right now with my husband losing his job and a wild 1 year old that keeps me on my toes and up most of night.
Im so frustrated with my recent 21 day holter monitor. I was only able to use it for it a week due to an allergic reaction to the pads. My doc was fine with me taking it off. She said that the readings showed no pvc's, pac's, or anything else out of the ordinary. What was frustrating was the day after I took it off and mailed it back I started getting crazy amounts of pvc's and lightheadedness. I recently ( past 2 days) have been having jaw pain which ive had in the past. I dont know whether to be concerned with that or not because my tmj has been acting up and the increase of stress has caused alot of muscle tension. I feel like a car you take to the mechanic. It doesnt make the sound whille your there but then when you leave it starts up again.
I'm kinda wondering if I should get an ultrasound taken of the arteries in my neck. I dont know maybe Im thinking to much into it. I have a doc app on monday so I will ask her then.
Again thank you so much for your answers. They were greatly appreciated.
