Alzheimers

After losing my beloved cat to complications of thyroid disease, I have decided to adopt another cat.  Recently I was listening to a radio talk show and the host stated that there is a correlation between cats and Alzheimer's Disease in their owners.  Is there any truth to that statement?

What correlation?  I am not familiar with this information.  Could you please post the particulars.

However, there are multiple studies that show that having a cat increases life span, provides companionship, love, decreases blood pressure, etc.
