Bite

Pug was outside and when she came in, her face had blood on it.  Cleaned her up and saw 3 puncture or bite marks on the end of her tongue and her bottom jaw seems to be paralyzed.  What kind of bite would do this and do you think it is permanant or temp.

I certainly hope that you took your dog to the vet after this bite.  Any bite of unknown origin should be treated with a rabies booster.  Antibiotics and other medications as well as cleaning and treating the wound may also be necessary.  The bites could be from bee stings, spider bites or any wild animal.  If the bite or sting damaged the nerves that innervates the lower jaw, there could be temporarily paralysis of unknown duration.
