Bloody Discharge from Cat's Rectum

My 8 year old tabby will leave little bloody/watery dots the size of a dime when he sits somewhere.  It's not all the time, but about once a week.  I actually heard it squirt out this week.  He seems healthy otherwise and has regular vet check-ups.  It is more water than blood, but what could that be, it seems to be getting more frequent??

It is probably either a urinary tract infection or less commonly an anal gland infection.  You really need to get your cat to the vet.  Please bring in a urine sample and a sample of these bloody dots for analysis.  I would not wait, since blocking can be a sequalae to urinary tract infections in male cats.  Blocking is when a small bladder stone gets stuck in a cats urethra causing an inability to urinate.  This is a veterinary medical emergency.
