Just had an inquiry about cat weight loss and if it associated with diseases? I have concerns and have heard of feline Aids. What would be the normal costs or causes or fees for a test in my region? she is fixed sinc eshe was 6mos old. Will need some symptoms or further advice. she's a petite female. Not sure if it's her breeed mixture or from being an indoor/outdoor cat?
The cost of a feline leukemia and feline Aids test combination at my clinic is $30.00, but there are literally dozens of causes of feline weight loss that have nothing to do with feline Aids.
Weight loss can be caused by congenital problems that may not appear until the cat is full grown, such as heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease and more. Almost any infectious disease can cause weight loss; even a urinary tract infection or upper respiratory infection.
Hopefully, the cause of your cat's weight loss is an easily treatable one. Please have her checked by your vet.
I hope everything is ok with your kitty. Don't worry, weight loss isn't always a result of disease. For example my cat every summer becomes very thin and inactive. Our vet told it happens because of hot weather. Also you can discuss this here http://www.**************.com/consumer-reviews/pet-medicine.html. Maybe you’ll find good advice.
