Cat suddenly begins having seizures.

okay, i recently posted a question in the cats community forum. someone referred me to here. since i really don't want to write out the entire question again, i hope you don't mind that i posted a link. comment with your answer on here, please.

basically, the summary is is that my cat recently began having seizures and we found nothing in her blood except for feline coronavirus. help D:
btw, does it sound like a brain tumor?

I read your other Post.

You have summarized it well.  Yes, she could have FIP or it may just be idiopathic seizure disorder.  Tumors are unlikely at her age, usually occurring in a much older cat.  Phenobarbital would not only be a treatment but it would help with diagnosis.  If the cause of your cats seizure disorder is FIP than phenobarbital will not be as effective in controlling the seizures as it would be for idiopathic seizure disorder.   It sounds as if your cat may have a long prodromal phase, than the seizure, and then a very long postictal phase; and if this is the case, it may not be status epilepticus. A consult with a veterinary neurologist may be very valuable.  Record one of the seizures to show to your vet.

they won't put her on phenobarb unless they begin seeing more seizures... thank you so much, though. i have a spark of hope for my baby. i hope it's just epilepsy.
