Does this sound like a seizure?

I am the owner of a 1 year old, 8 lb chihuahua.  She is extremely interactive, friendly, playful...but a bit skiddish around strangers.  She has not been sick one time since we purchased her January 2008.  Tonight, however, she jumped down from the sofa...laid on her side shaking...then could not walk when she tried to come to me.  Her back legs seemed to be paralyzed.  She trembled while I held her (I know chihuahuas can be nervous but she isn't at all)  This lasted for about 5 minutes, then she returned to play as normal.  One thing that has me concerned is that I dropped a package of white chocolate morsels (very tiny) this afternoon.  Before I could get them all picked up, she consumed two or three of them.  Could this have caused a reaction 5-6 hours later?  If unlikely, could you shed any light on what might have happened that would cause these types of symptoms?  She is the absolute love of my life and I plan to take her to the vet tomorrow, but was hoping for another expert opinion.  Thank you, in advance, for your time.  (Jazzie's mom)

White chocolate contains very little theobromine, which is the substance in regular chocolate that is toxic to dogs.  Your dog would have to ingest 200 ounces of white chocolate per pound of body weight for a toxic reaction.

It sounds as if she may have a disk problem.  If the problem occurs again, please have her examined by your veterinarian.

Thanks for the reply.  She has been fine today, but I am still keeping a close eye on her.  Her shots are scheduled for next week so I will mention it to the vet at that time...unless there is another episode before then.  The jump from the sofa was not traumatic for her because we keep a pillow there to lessen the impact.  The vet's assistant did not seem to think that a minimal amount of white chocolate would cause these symptoms...so who knows?  Hopefully, I will hear from the vet on this forum and she can shed some light on the matter.  Thanks again for your reply.

could be that she got 'stunned' jumping off the couch.. sometimes when my chihuahuas play too rough, one will 'stun' themseleves and basically knock themselves out, it is very scary..   one of my chis did act like yours did once too... i just saw she couldnt walk with her hind end. it only happened once, so i didnt think too much of it..
so , i think it could be a seizure or it could be due to her jumping off the couch ;-) i wouldnt worry to much unless it happens again, but you should have your vet take a look and run some blood ;0-
