Dog joint pain

Hi, recently my dog has been screaming (yes, almost literally) out in pain. We went to the Vet, we got some painkillers (Rymidal). Didn't help too much. Went to vet again next morning and took X-rays. It seems her hip on the right is a little damaged and not completely where it is supposed to be, but also arthiritis in both knees. Vets gave us these chewable bites (Synovi G4) that are supposed to help her joints.

The question: Should I be seeing results quickly, or over time? Is surgery inevitable?

Thank you so much for your time. Dog can barely walk at all. It is painful to watch, she is just not acting like herself at all. Thanks.

I have tried Chondropaw on my 9 year old boxer with joint pain and it worked!.
I recommend it to all. My dog is running and going up the stairs like he used before.
Here is their website  www.chondropaw.com

I would demand some more attention from your veterinarian, or seek a second opinion. What you are describing to me sounds a little like a dislocated hip. Even if that is not the case we have here a patient who is in a lot of pain and the Rimadyl is not helping enough (Rimadyl is a very good pain killer but is not doing the job in this case). The second prescription is a supplement that slowly (over weeks to months) helps repair arthritic joints. your dog cannot be in pain for that long and frankly arthritis does not cause pain to the point of vocalization.
