Gecko skin infection

My friend has an Albino Leopard Gecko that has all of a sudden developed a serious skin condition. He started to shed about a two weeks ago, and it was taking a really long time. Then as the skin came off, the flesh under it seems to be rotting off. His back, and legs are scabed and have open sores that appear to be getting deeper, almost like something is eating away at the layers. He has not yet shed on top of his head or part of his tail. He is loosing his appetite and is very agitated. He has been very healthy untill now. Any ideas on what might be going on would be great! I have pictures available also.

Your gecko will have to be seen by a vet who specializes in exotics.  This sounds a bit too serious.
