Hernia

Hernia

When my cat was born, I took her to be fixed and front claws removed. The vet at the time said she had a herniated belly button. Now approx 10 years later it seems to have gotten a little larger. She seems to eat and then throw up, but I just figured it was because he eats so fast and does not give her food time to digest. That has been going on for several years. Is this something I should be worried about? She has not been to a vet in years, she is a indoor cat, does not go out at all, and is not exposed to any other animals.

Vomiting consistantly is not a normal behavior.  Occasional vomiting is normal.  Vomiting in an older cat that has been going on for several years could be IBD, food allergies or sensitivities, hyperthyroid disease, kidney disease, and many more.  It is unlikely that the hernia could be affecting her after all this time but you never know.  Please have your pet examined soon and have a blood test, including thyroid check,  and urinalysis performed to try and give you a definitive diagnosis.
