Hot spots??

My dog has red sores along his body that are starting to spread, and I have now shaved where they are to clean my out, what can I do?? And does that sound like hotspots??

Thank you, I have shaven the areas and put a cone on his head to stop him from licking and biting at them, and keeping them clean, they seem to be improving, but im jjust keeping a close eye on them

It does sound like hotspots though it could also be allergies, an autoimmune disorder, or even ringworm. Shaving the lesions  may help and certainly wont hurt. Be sure to keep the area clean and dry.
