Lots of loose skin and fat

Lots of loose skin and fat

Hello,

I am a bit concered about our female cat, she is approx 10 months old. We got them from a sanctury, one male and one female when they where 9 weeks old. We had them both neutered and vaccinated and they have been wormed 3 times since we got them.

The female in question, the vet said was a runt as she was very tiny and still is, however even though she is quite skinny she has a huge amount of fat and loose skin hanging from her stomach, it nearly touches the ground. The male cat has it too only no where nearly as bad.

They are both indoor cats. Is there a need to be worried or is this normal?

Thanks!

Loose Skin and Fat

My hope in reading this post is that both your feline friends are doing well.  After pets are spayed or neutered, it is not uncommon to see a belly that become saggy.  This is normal and should not create any problems.

Any time you have a concern like this, it is never a bad idea to visit your veterinarian to put your mind at ease.

Hello,

Thanks very much for the info, you have put our minds at rest although we still still get them checked out at the vets.
