Megacolon Male Kitty with Big Hernia

Megacolon Male Kitty with Big Hernia

I have a much loved 6 year old male cat, who has megacolon.  He's had it for nearly 2 years.  Last year, he got bladder stones, and was operated on, and ended up with a hernia at the incision site.  It has gotten progressively bigger.

Should we have that repaired?  Could it contribute to problems with the megacolon?  The last time he was seriously constipated, (about a week ago) was one of the WORST episodes for him.

If the hernia won't do him harm, then I'm okay with it, but its so big, that when he sits down, his belly sags to the floor, and you can see the hernia like a tennis ball!

The hernia should be repaired.

Since your cat has megacolon please place him on the following herbal formula's: Si Miao San and **** Gui Cong Rong, available online, without a prescription.  Begin with a low dose and gradually increase the dose until your cat's stool is normal.  He can be on these medications for 3 months at a time with a week's break in between.
