My beagle has a pale, rough pink blob on one of her hind legs. It doesn't cause her any pain and she doesnt notice it at all. When she walks it shakes, it looks like it should be cut off. What could this be?
I t sounds like a simple skin tag. These growths can occur due to locally growing papilloma viruses, localized inflammatory reactions, or can be idiopathic (a fance term for "we dont really know why"). Regardless, skin tags are harmless and not a concern. However I always recommend that any new lump or mass be assessed by a veterinarian. There are a few rare tumours that can mimic benign growths and can only be cured with early detection and surgery.
