My dog's eye problem

My dog is a Shih Tzu and he's almost 3 years old. He's been a healthy dog, but recently, I found that he had something on his eye. I don't really know what it is (please click on the link provided).
Can you please tell me the diagnosis and what I can do to get rid of it?
Thank you.

No Visine is not artificial tears.  Visine may have a special type or brand of artificial tears, but typical visine is not.

Most brands of artificial tears (that come by many product names and manufacturers) will say on the lable "Artificial Tears".  Just look for that.

I noticed you are located in Bandung, Indonesia, and the availability of veterinary care may be limited. You may be able to give your dog some relief by using "Artificial Tears" that are sold in drug stores and pharmacies for humans. It is important that the product does not contain any other medications that could be harmful. If your Shih Tzu does have an ulcer on his cornea, as Dr. Coyner suggests, the lubricant in artificial tears may keep it from getting worse until you can get to a veterinarian. In any event, it should not cause any harm.

Good luck!

It is hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like there may be a greyish spot in the center of his cornea? It may be a corneal ulcer, and this is something that requires immediate veterinary treatment so that it does not worsen and cause the eye to rupture. There is nothing that you can do at home to treat the eye, please take him to your veterinarian today.

Can you please give me any name for the product using artificial tears?
Is Visine one of the products?
