Pet Vomiting Bile - check the liver

My 12 year old Lab had lethargy and was vomiting bile and a couple of seizures. I took her to the vet so many times and put her through so many tests. My vet even took an x-ray of her abdomen and after 10 months of continuous tests, he said he didn't know what was wrong and I should consult a specialist. I took her to a specialist with her x-rays in hand, and the Vet looked at the x-ray in 2 seconds and said the problem is right there - a massive tumor on her liver. It turns out my vet didn't know how to read x-rays (why he offers this service despite the fact is beyond me).  Finally, after more blood tests and removing 2 areas from the tumor for biopsy, my Lab was diagnosed with Liver Cancer.  She was almost put 2 sleep twice, but she literally would have a sudden turn around (there is always hope). She went into remission for about 4 months and now is experiencing end stage liver cancer symptoms and will have to leave us for doggy heaven soon.  She has been an angel on earth to me, and I know other dog lovers feel the same about their pet. I am so sorry about the lack of diagnosis.  And for your dog's sad disease.  

I find it difficult to believe that a student can graduate veterinary school in the US and become a veterinarian,  without passing the course in radiology.

I often send X-Rays to a board certified radiologist to be read when I have any doubts, or perform an abdominal ultrasound. I am sorry that your vet did not have access to these services.
