Pregnancy

My girl looks like she did when she was pregnant with her previous litter. She has been bleeding for a week now. Can she be pregnant, but still be bleeding? Could she have gotten pregnant before we saw the blood?

We separated the boy and girl as soon as we noticed the bleeding, but I don't know if my boy was that efficient.

Also, I can stop separating them after three weeks from the beginning of he bleeding, right? Or three weeks after her bleeding?

When was she in heat last?  Typically they will be in heat about every 6 months but that varies depending on the individual.  The heat cycle also varies but typically lasts about 3 weeks.  The discharge started out blood tinged then goes to a more straw colored discharge in about a week.  They are fertile during the less blood tinged phase but this varies tremendously from individual to individual.  I am also concerned about the possibility of a uterine infection, called a pyometra, although those are more common in older females.  I suspect this is going to require a visit to your veterinarian to sort things out for sure.
