Sebaceous cyst - Hamster

Sebaceous cyst - Hamster

Hi I have a one year old siberian dwarf hamster and 2 days ago I took him to a Vet because I notice a little area without hair on his belly the Vet said he had a sebaceous cyst in the sebaceous gland, he removed a lump of tallow with forceps and told me that I had to put the antiseptic solution called Betadine on the injury once a day and that hair wouldn't grow again on the skin which hasn't hair. I asked him if it wouldn't hurt the hamster if he licked the solution and he said it would not. My question is I have to put betadine just on sebaceous gland to disinfected it (as I'm doing) or I have to put also in the area without hair which is a little beside the gland, right next to his left leg? Thank you.

The betadine only needs to be on the areas which are infected.
