Skin breakout

My Lab has huge red pimples around his mouth and on his head.  I came home today and there were several over his eyes and one of them was bleeding.  It looked almost like a huge pimple that had burst.  Some tiny bald spots are present on his head as well.  The rest of his body is fine--no bald spots or hair loss.  This entire breakout is limited to his face.

Contact allergies with or without secondary bacteria, or possibly canine acne (canine acne lesions usually occur on a dogs chin, not near the eye area) may be causing the red spots.

The bald patches on your dogs head may or may not be fungal in nature-for example ringworm causes circular balding areas but they usually do not itch. Ringworm is contagious to humans and easily transmitted.
