Stinky cat poop

Stinky cat poop

I have two 5year old cats- male and female siblings.  I have had them since they were 12 weeks old.  Both cats are well nourished and healthy.  The only problem is their stools are very soft and very smelly.  They do not have worms.  No vomiting.  They eat dry food only - either purina indoor formula or hairball formula.  I have tried other foods without any lessening of odor.  Is there another food I can feed them to help this problem?

Try including a good probiotic (good digestive bacteria), such as I-Flora, and digestive enzymes into their diet.  I would do it through their veterinarian, and not on your own.  I would also try converting your cats to wet, or canned food, which contains no grains.  Cats do not need grains in their diet.  Canned diets usually do not contain as much grain as dry diets, and the extra liquid is very important for cats' delicate kidney function.

Hi. We recently put our cat on a diet. We have just decreased the amount of dry food she gets each day. For some reason, her poop smells bad and stays with her throughout the day. It's also a little softer than usual and a little lighter in color. She's not acting any different (except for waking me up early to put more food in her dish) but she's eating, no vomiting and playful. Once and a great while I give her soft food or tuna water because I heard they need moisture in their diet but I haven;t given her any this week.
Any thoughts?Thanks.
