Tucker

My dog was fine on Monday when I came home from work I gave him a cookie he jumped up and down from exitement then a few minutes later he was rubbing his eye on a blanket and then his eye was red looked like blood. I took him to the ER we were there in under 10 minuts. He was put on 3 kinds of meds 2 were for glacoma and one was for pain. He seemed to be doing better and when I brought him back to the docs the next week his eye presure was much better. We went home but he just wasnt him self. I took him back again for another followup and his eye presure was back up. The vet said to follow up with an eye specialist but the next day he was so much worse he was up all night breathing heavy loosing his balance walking into walls putting his head in tight corners. I couldnt console him no mater what I did. That morning I rushed him in to the ER again and the vet and I made the devistating desission to put him down. I just couldnt seed him in pain anymore. it was the hardest thing I ever had to do I just dont understand what could have happend he was doing better for a short time and I thought he would be ok. Can anyone tell me what this could have been. Stroke, brain tummor why did he get bleeding in his eye. I just cant sleep wondering what and why this happened. He was my baby his 12th Birthday was on Monday and he was put down on Thursday. If anyone has any ideas I would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Missing my Baby Tucker :(

I am so sorry about your loss.

It really sounds as if he may have had a brain tumor.  The brain tumor could have pressed on the eye from behind the eye causing the glaucoma.  It was just a matter of time before the brain tumor grew large enough to cause additional symptoms but it could have been growing insidiously for a long time.

Unfortunately, only an MRI, CT scan, or a post mortem exam would give a definitive diagnosis.
