Unusual bleeding

Unusual bleeding

My dog started bleeding from her nose this morning. She was tick-free the last time we checked and she's always highly energetic, which she's been able to keep up. However, a rushed trip to the vet after the weird bleeding revealed she had a fever and one of her pupils stays dilated all the time, and he also noticed a slight head tilt. What could be wrong with her? The vet only said took a blood sample and said to return tomorrow for more tests, but didn't offer any possibilities on what it could be. Also told me to buy a shot of some anti-seizure medicine for her, "just in case".

Could you please post the lab results when you get them tomorrow.  Toxins and some infectious agents can cause head tilts, differing pupil sizes and nose bleeds.

Ideopathic epilepsy usually does not cause nose bleeds unless she had a traumatic injury to her nose during a seizure.

Another possibility for the symptoms you describe is a head injury involving the nose and side of the head.
