can't stand up

I have an 11 year old male Dalmatian that losing control of his back legs. Hes standing fine, then he just sits. And then he scrambling to stand. It only last for a minute, and then hes fine. He has no other symtoms, no seizures or anything else. And I just found out that his father is experiencing the same thing. Hes 13 years old. What do you think is going on. Should I be worried. It only happens every so often.

Take him to a vet immediately...the sooner you get him there, the better outcome for him.
