why do my dogs eat the cat poop out of the litter box when they always have their own food

A dog's sense of smell is thousands of times better then ours.  Cat poop may smell and taste good to them because they can distinguish all of it's components, which may acquire a new and exciting additional smell and taste due to the digestive process.   Therefore it is hard to judge a dog on it's it's unsavory eating habits.  Some dog's just like the taste and smell.
