dry brittle nails

over the past couple of months our dog has had nail problems, his nails are dry, brittle, split and discolored, he licks his paws raw. The other day he was bleeding from the top of the nail, it took a ling time to stop the bleeding, I used sypetic and bandaged the foot for 3 days, the bleeding stopped but his nails are a mess.
We feed a diet of raw meat and fresh veggies,
I was wondering if being on a cement surface would break down his nails and cause this

The cement surface wouldn't cause dry brittle toe nails but probably isn't helping either.
Dry brittle canine toe nails may be due to a fatty acid deficiency, a systemic autoimmune disorder such as Pemphigus or a fungal nail bed infection.

fatty acid deficiencies can be improved with EPA, DHA fatty acid supplements or you can add a little extra virgin olive oil to his meals.

Pemphigus is diagnosed with a blood panel and Fungal nail bed infections are diagnosed with a physical exam and biopsy and/or culture.
