glands

Hi, I have a year old pug named Jazmin . She has some alergies (allergies) and is currently broke out in hives. I noticed that this time she has a swollen place on her upper chest bone that apears large. Is this a gland ? Or is it due to the alergies (allergies)?

If your dog is an allergic dog the lump you describe could be a sebaceous gland which has filled with a creamy pus, or it may be a fatty tumor (lipoma), which is unrelated to allergies.  

If it a swelling of a gland, than a fine needle aspirate should be performed to make sure it is nothing serious.  Gland swelling can be caused by infection, inflammation, or cancer.
