growing big around the chest cavity

I have a female who had bee spayed, since then her weight has ballooned---though she eats a two cup meal a day, she will not shed any pounds. Her growth around her chest cavity is astonomically huge. It doesn't look right. Why could this be??

My recommendation is to check with your vet first. Blood tests, thyroid evaluation and perhaps chest xrays should reveal any health issues. If all tests are normal, exercise and a proper diet should help to get her back into proper shape.
