hamster health

my hamster has a scab on the top part of her back at first  thought i would go on it own but it seems to be getting bigger, is it serious?

If it was a traumatic injury it would be getting smaller as it heals.  It could be an infected traumatic injury though.  Some other possibilities include skin cancer or, a sebaceous cyst , or other benign skin lesion.  The only way you would be able to find out definitively what it is would be if you took her to the vet and have diagnostics performed, just as you would with a dog or cat.  The vet could perform a skin scraping, a fine needle aspirate or biopsy.

Some vets have reduced rates for pocket pet (hamster's).  Search around until you find a vet who can meet you and your hamster's needs.
