kitten care

I got a kitten about 5 days ago.Wasnt exactly sure of his age but he was eating wet food, used the litter box and would play. Then the other morning I picked him up and he was meowing but his body was completely limp.He died within the hour.He seemed completely fine when we went to bed the night before.Any ideas?

I am so sorry about your kitten!

A kitten that age could have passed from a hidden congenital disease such as a malformation of one or more organs.  This type of problem may not show any obvious symptoms.

Other diseases would most commonly give a warning.  The kitten would act sick, or have diarrhea, or other symptoms.

I had two kittens ( Loreena's kittens ) died this way.
Fine one day, died the other...First one showed some signs of disconfort at night
They were 8 and 10 days old, whem the first died vet told me the same Dr Aleda is saying.
I assume it was really that
When happened again we got crazy wondering about any infection affecting everybody but other 4 grow up fine and healthy. It was  along month, however :-)
Sorry for your baby, good luck for the next...
