shaking in hind legs

shaking in hind legs

I've been noticing has been having more vocal dreaming and sometimes while on his side when i go to touch him there is spasmotic shaking in his hind legs that radiates up his body.. it lasts for a few seconds and then subsides. I hold him for a bit. and soon enough he's back to 'normal'. what i wanted to know is this related to disease or could he be developing a neorological disorder? he does put whatever he can pit his mouth on, but i watch him closely. the worst, i can think of is he migtht have nibbled on some poop on the sidewalk which god knows what it was, also as rabbit poop. the big question i have is about what kind of diseases could be contracted from such places, and could he have just a bout of worms? do worms cause shaking? because when he's had them in the past I didn't notice it. also his appetite is low and he's not taking water often, and breath a bit fouler than normal.

overall a very healthy dog, resilient despite this. he eats a raw diet and gets plenty of excersise, and is not given anything chemical for deworming and such but i follow a holistic approach. your help is greatly appreciated. we have just moved, and in need to find a vet with this approach.

From  what I can make of your question I would say that either this is dreaming and quite normal, or he may be having seizures and should be evaluated by a veterinarian and a good history and track record documented.

As for worms, this is something your veterinarian should be advising you on especially now at his young age.  Worms can have a variety of effects and this will be a part of a very complete eval done when you get him into a good veterinarian.

I cannot advise a raw diet, it is a fad and not good for dogs.  I can also say that there are no natural remedies that will actually help with parasites.  You will need to let your veterinarian administer proper medications to take care of this, and any number of problems your dogs will face in their life.
