sick lizard

After feeding my monitor today, I noticed that she was beginning to shed and thought I would run some warm water in the sink and kind of rubb the skin off a little.  Upon doing this I noticed what I thought was part of her bedding stuck onto her bottom lip from the water.  Her bedding is coconut husk bricks that you add water too and they absorb the water and become almost a power like substaince.  When rubbing it and noticing that it was not coming off the first thing I thought was mouth rot.  The area looks brown and crusty kind of look, that is located just inside her lip and on the outside of her mouth.  The area is small but big enough to notice.  If you have an idea of what it is, could you also tell me whats the best treatment.
