sore

My dog has a lumped up sore on her back and when you squeeze it white stuff comes out. I have been squeezing it and then cleaning with alcohol and antibiotic cream. What is this? Am I cleaning this the right way?

A lot of these are often sebaceous adenomas... I'd have to agree with the dermatologist - don't squeeze or pick your pet's zits or masses! If you're getting your dog neutered around 6 months, I'd recommend having it surgically removed at the same time.

A skin mass in a puppy may be a cyst, granuloma, or abcess, I do not recommend squeezing it, as this can cause more inflammation. Veterinary evaluation is needed to diagnose and treat the mass.
