tumor

my puppy has a tumor. the vet said it is most likely benign tumor, but he is getting surgery Tuesday. what are the odds that it is cancer? it is red and a little bit bigger then a pencil eraser. it showed up about a week and half ago and has got bigger.

It sounds like your puppy may have a benign tumor called a Histiocytoma.  These are benign skin tumors of the cells that secrete histamine.  Malignant tumors of the skin are uncommon in young dogs, since malignant tumors increase with age.  

Please let us know what the biopsy shows!
